With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Orb has made significant contributions to the field, specializing in sustainable production from waste plastic. Driven by a belief in the transformative potential of nanotubes and a commitment to sustainability, he transitioned from academia to founding TrimTabs to bring his innovative research to market and change the future of nanotechnology.
Shreya is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of experience spanning both practice and industry. She began her career at KPMG, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant, before moving into commercial finance roles at Whitbread Plc and EMI Group Plc. Today, Shreya leverages her extensive commercial expertise to guide and strengthen the financial operations of growing businesses.
Shreya currently runs her own Chartered Accountancy Practice, providing part-time Finance Director services. Shreya studied Law at UCL before embarking upon her accountancy career.
Will Mercer is a startup strategist who helps high-growth companies with business development and fundraising. With a background in physics and renewable energy research, he specializes in deep tech solutions for the circular economy.
An experienced entrepreneur, Mercer has over 15 years of experience in finance, strategy consulting, and business development across 10+ countries. He has helped ventures raise over $20 million in capital and close $30+ million in sales. As a Chief Strategy Officer, Mercer works closely with CEOs to refine growth strategies, craft narratives, and lead fundraising efforts.
Kayla Fry has joined TrimTabs to support business and finance operations the entire company. With a Master of Mathematics (M.Math) from Swansea University and a background in pharmacy operations, tutoring, she is now also working through her ACCA qualifications.
Kayla was a former elite trampolinist and has earned British Bronze and Junior Commonwealth Silver & Gold medals.
James grew up in West Wales with a hands-on passion for mechanics, inspired by a family background in classic car restoration and repair. This early curiosity for how things work led him to pursue mechanical engineering, where he combines practical experience with a drive for innovation and design.
He brings expertise in CNC programming, jig design, and project leadership, including work on double-walled hydrogen pipes for cruise liner engines. At TrimTabs, James applies his technical skills and project experience to advance our engineering capabilities and deliver high-quality solutions.
John Tsampanakis joins TrimTabs as a Process Scientists leading projects at our Innovation Centre. He previously held a cross functional engineering role at Jotis S.A. (Greece) where his main goals were process selection, production line commissioning and acceptance testing.
He holds a master’s degree in Energy Innovation, where he tested the growth of CNTs from various pathways and an MEng degree in Chemical Engineering, both from Swansea University.
Thilanka Andersson has joined TrimTabs as a Graduate Chemical Engineer, helping translate early-stage materials innovation into scalable process solutions. He brings hands-on pilot plant experience from his placement at Axium Process, where he led the design and build of a modular benchtop RO system to streamline lab-scale testing into full-scale membrane trials. Thilanka also contributed to engineering trials used to determine design parameters for commercial membrane systems. His spark, enthusiasm, and keen observation skills are helping TrimTabs drive our production forwards.
He holds a First Class MEng in Chemical Engineering from Swansea University and is a lifelong Formula One fan.
Bryn Goss has recently joined TrimTabs after completing a Master’s of Chemical Engineering (MEng) with a Year in Industry at Swansea University. He has experience with process scale-up in the minerals and carbon materials sector. He is from the local area and is a fluent Welsh speaker.
